CERTIFICATION BOARD REQUIREMENTS
AND RENEWAL INFORMATION

The American Naturopathic Medical Certification Board (ANMCB) is the national certifying agency for natural health care throughout the United States. Registered with the Department of Consumer and Regulatory Affairs in Washington, D.C. ANMCB offers certification by examination, or recognition according to education and experience deemed equivalent. ANMCB is an independent Board and is not affiliated with a school or training programs. 

ANMCB TITLES AND ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

  • Board Certified Naturopathic Physician, BCNP*

  • Board Certified Doctor of Integrative Medicine, BCDIM 

  • Board Certified Doctor of Functional Medicine, BCDFM 

Applicants qualified to be designated as these Board Certified titles must meet
the following requirements at the time of submitting the application.
1. Graduation from an accredited medical program approved by the Board
2. Hold a Current State Medical License
3. Submission of application, official transcripts and medical license
4. Passing the required ANMCB examination administered by the Board​

5. Application fee $695. Annual Renewal requires 20 CEUs and renewal fee of $150

  • Board Certified Traditional Naturopath, BCTN*

  • Board Certified Doctor of Traditional Naturopathy, BCDTN*

  • Board Certified Doctor of Natural Medicine, BCDNM

  • Board Certified Doctor of Holistic Health, BCDHH

  • Board Certified Doctor of Natural Health, BCDNH

  • Board Certified in Functional Medicine, BCFM

Applicants qualified to be designated in these Board Certified Titles must meet the following requirements at the time of submitting the application.

  • Board Certified Master Herbalist, BCMH

  • Board Certified Aromatherapist, BCA

  • Board Certified Master Iridologist, BCMI

  • Board Certified Holistic Fitness Specialist, BCHFS

  • Board Certified Flower Essence Therapist, BCFET

Applicants qualified to be designated in these Board Certified Titles must meet the following requirements at the time of submitting the application.
1. Submission of application and official transcript
2. Graduation from an accredited program approved by the Board and Exam will be waived
3. Requested Board Certification Title must reflect education earned

4. Application fee $595. Annual Renewal requires 20 CEUs and a renewal fee of $150

Specialty Health Coach Board Certifications

  • Board Certified Health Coach, BCHC

  • Board Certified Holistic Health Coach, BCHHC

  • Board Certified Exponential Health Coach, BCEHC

  • Board Certified Biofield Technology Health Coach, BCBTHC

  • Board Certified Pro-Consciousness Meditation Health Coach, BCPCMHC

  • Board Certified Creative Healthcare Health Coach, BCCHHC

Applicants qualified to be designated as these Specialty Health Coach Certifications must meet the following requirements:

  1. Professional Recommendation and must meet Board's requirements and the Exam will be waived

  2. Submission of application and official transcripts

  3. Application fee $595. Annual Renewal requires 20 CEUs and a renewal fee of $150

Specialty Board Certifications

Applicants qualified to be designated as these Specialty Certifications must meet the following requirements:

  1. Professional Recommendation and must meet Board's requirements

  2. Board Certified Bionetic Naturopathic Counselor, BCBNC, for Graduates of Energetic Wellness School of Naturopathy only

  4. Passing the required ANMCB Examination administered by the Board

Please complete the ANMCB Application and select the certification title which reflects your education. Submit requested documents, two letters of reference, along with payment 30 days prior to the ANMCB Exam date. To maintain the Board Certification you must renew annually by submitting 20 natural health continuing education units and the renewal fee.

BOARD CERTIFICATION RENEWAL INFORMATION

By becoming and maintaining your certification annually you are demonstrating you are committed to your profession and continuing to learn and grow. Staying current with ANMCB is easy. ANMCB does not designate how or from whom you must obtain your continuing education, the only requirement is that the education is healthcare related.

The ANMCB requires Board Certified professionals to renew each year. You are required to complete 20 continuing education units (CEUs) and submit a $150.00 renewal fee in order to keep certification current. Continuing education is essential to staying current and effective in natural health care. The Board will accept 20 CEUs from Natural Health Care Conferences, Conventions, Completed Courses, Seminars, Training Programs, Internship, and Research. You can request an extension of time to renew your Board Certification by submitting this form-  Extension of Time Request. The Board of ANMCB has approved Continuing Education Programs available for your sections: ANMCB's List of Approved Continuing Education Programs.
